Newly-acquired Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Derrick Rose, who was officially signed by the team on Thursday, had a message for his doubters on Saturday afternoon while meeting with members of the media.

According to a tweet today from NBA writer Nick Friedell of ESPN, Rose had some stern words for his critics who await his debut with the Wolves.

“This is how I feel about it, the whole perspective on it: You could have your perspective on me, as far as I'm a bum, I can't play, I can't shoot, this and that, all right, cool,” Rose said. “I have no hard feelings with that. I'm cool with that. [If] that's how you feel, that's how you feel, but at the same time, I don't need your f—ing validation. I know who I am, I know what type of player I am. So you respect that and I respect that [point of view] and we should be good. That's how I feel about it.”

The Wolves will be the fourth team that Rose has suited up for if he makes his debut during Sunday afternoon's game against the defending champion Golden State Warriors at Target Center. After he was acquired by the Utah Jazz from the Cleveland Cavaliers right before the trade deadline, he was released by Utah just two days later on Feb. 10.

In only 16 games played this season for the Cavs, Rose averaged 9.8 points on 43.9 percent shooting from the field, 1.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game in just 19.3 minutes of action per contest.

Rose clearly still has all the confidence in the world when it comes to his abilities as a player, despite all the bad luck that the 2011 NBA Most Valuable Player has had with injuries over his career.
