The 2018-19 campaign did not exactly go as planned for the Minnesota Timberwolves, as Jimmy Butler demanded a trade and was eventually dealt to the Philadelphia 76ers in November.

As a result, the Timberwolves did not make the playoffs, but their locker room did become much more easygoing, and it's not like they didn't pick up some decent pieces in return for Butler.

Minnesota received Robert Covington and Dario Saric in the deal, and with two games remaining in the regular season, Wolves star big man Karl-Anthony Towns praised Covington, particularly for the job he has done on defense, according to Ryan Wolstat of the Toronto Sun.

In addition, Towns said that he hopes the team finds some stability in the coaching staff this summer.

The Timberwolves fired Tom Thibodeau in the middle of the season and replaced him with Ryan Saunders, the son of late Minnesota head coach Flip Saunders.

Minnesota currently owns a record of 36-44 and will conclude the year by hosting the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday night followed by a road matchup with the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday.

Towns is averaging 24.4 points, 12.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.6 blocks over 33.1 minutes per game while shooting 51.8% from the floor, 40% from 3-point range and 83.6% from the free-throw line. As a result, he made his second straight All-Star team.

The 23-year-old, who played his collegiate basketball at the University of Kentucky, was originally selected by the Timberwolves with the first overall pick of the 2015 NBA Draft.

Karl-Anthony Towns has averaged a double-double in each of his first four seasons.
