The 2023 FIBA World Cup will take place beginning on August 25 and go until September 10, with a total of 32 teams participating. There are plenty of n0table NBA players who have decided to suit up this summer. Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kyle Anderson also announced his decision to suit up, although it won't be for Team USA. It will be for China, as Anderson announced (h/t CGTN Sports Scene).

“Hello, fans in China. This is Li Kaier. I'm so happy to announce that I would be representing China in the World Cup. I'm really proud and honored to wear the Team China jersey.”

Kyle Anderson also had a photo of him meeting with CBA president Yao Ming, and the name Li Kaier is Anderson's name. The naturalization became official, and now he will suit up for Team China once the FIBA World Cup begins.

Anderson's citizenship got finalized, and his great-grandfather was a Chinese national from the area of Shenzhen, making things a bit easier to get done in time.

Anderson just finished up his first season with the Timberwolves after coming over from the Memphis Grizzlies. This past year, he averaged 9.4 PPG with 5.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists and played more than 28 minutes per context. Of course, Anderson became well-known after he and teammate Rudy Gobert got into it during the season, leading to a punch being thrown and drama surrounding the organization.

The former UCLA product has become a solid rotational piece for every NBA team he has been on, and he has a solid chance of becoming a star for Team China during the FIBA World Cup.
