Tour de France had a lot of highs and lows this year. A crash because of a fan wanting a photo was one of the worst incidents. Also, a media motorcycle stalled the race which ended up being costly for some cyclists all throughout. Despite all of these, Jonas Vingegaard defied all the odds to get his second title and beat old-time rival Tadej Pogacar.

The blooming rivalry between Jonas Vingegaard and Tadej Pogacar had closed another chapter. Tour de France saw the Danish cycling star repeat as Tour de France's champion. He added how his journey along with his Visma-Jumbo teammates was a rollercoaster en route to getting the victory, via ESPN.

“It's been an amazing year. What a Tour de France for us. We started the plans early, and once again, I could not have done it without my team. It's been an amazing Tour for us, and I'm so proud of every one of us,” he outlined.

Vingegaard disclosed how they plan to honor their accomplishments after the endurance race. He also did not forget to be grateful for his rivals who went through grueling conditions with him.

“Tonight we will celebrate, have a good dinner. It will be a nice evening. Thanks to my opponents, who have been amazing. It's been an amazing three weeks fighting with you guys,” the Danish cycling star said.

Vingegaard and Pogacar have come a long way but the Danish cyclist built up a huge lead near the end. Will it be the same story in the next edition of Tour de France?
