The agent for Bryson DeChambeau is refuting reports his client refused to be paired with rival golfer Brooks Koepka at the U.S. Open.

Former PGA Tour star Brad Faxon reported the USGA reached out to Bryson DeChambeau about playing with Koepka, adding DeChambeau declined to be paired with Koepka.

DeChambeau's agent, Brett Falkoff, denied the USGA ever made contact with the “Big Golfer” about playing with Koepka during the U.S. Open:

“The USGA did not reach out to Bryson regarding a potential pairing with Brooks Koepka,” Falkoff said, via ESPN's Bob Harig. “Bryson is fully focused on defending the U.S. Open at Torrey Pines this week.”

There has been plenty of suggestion among golf fans that a Bryson DeChambeau-Brooks Koepka pairing at the U.S. Open would be incredibly entertaining amid their ongoing feud.

DeChambeau and Koepka have butted heads in the past year-plus, but the tension seemed to come to a head at last month's PGA Championship. DeChambeau walked right behind Koepka in the middle of a post-round interview, prompting a reaction from Koepka that sent the Twittersphere on fire.

The two stars later traded barbs on social media after it was announced DeChambeau would be one of the contestants involved in the next installment of “Capital One's The Match.” However, both seemed to agree their feud was good for the sport.

In any case, DeChambeau and Koepka will not be in the same pairing for the first two rounds of the U.S. Open at Torrey Pines.

Bryson DeChambeau will be looking for his second U.S. Open title after winning last year's major at Winged Foot. Brooks Koepka is searching for his third U.S. Open victory after winning in 2017 and 2018.
