While it was James Wiseman who made headlines for the Golden State Warriors on draft night after being selected second overall by the Dubs, the team was actually able to swoop in on two more prospects late in the draft. One of them came in the form of Nico Mannion, who the Warriors took 48th overall. As it turns out, the 19-year-old actually has a bit of history with Golden State superstar Stephen Curry as well.

Curry retweeted a couple of old photos of himself with both Wiseman and Mannion back when his new teammates were still part of Curry's basketball camp:

A video of Curry working with Mannion during his camp then surfaced, and it was a pretty cool representation of how far the former Arizona standout has gone now that he's officially in the NBA:

Mannion had to wait quite a bit before he finally heard his name called, but we're pretty sure he was delighted that it was the Warriors who eventually scooped him up. The 6-foot-3 guard, however, will now have his work cut out for him as he joins the Dubs for training camp. A spot on the team is anything but guaranteed at this point, so Mannion will need to impress during preseason.

Last year as a freshman in Arizona, Mannion averaged 14.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 1.2 steals, while also draining 1.7 triples per game on a 32.7-percent clip.

It is worth noting that the Warriors are waiting on some very important news on Thursday, with Klay Thompson expected to undergo an MRI on his Achilles injury. We're all hoping that it's not a tear, as that would likely result in the five-time All-Star missing out on his second consecutive campaign.
