Kevin Durant has been out for nearly a month since suffering a strained calf injury in Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Houston Rockets, yet his time away from the court hasn't stopped him from having a presence in the locker room as one of the leaders of this team. Point guard and longtime friend Quinn Cook lauded Durant for staying engaged, even when he has been forced to watch from the sidelines:

“He’s been a great, great leader and motivated everybody by talking a lot,” Cook told Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated. “Ever since he’s been out, he’s been great. But over these past three games, he’s been the best leader you could ask for.”

It was Durant who helped the Warriors find a hole in the Portland Trail Blazers' traps in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals, allowing for his team to come back in the second half and eventually win the game.

Durant was also the support system awaiting his teammates after a win or a loss, always supportive of his team, even if he can't quite contribute with the 34.2 points per game he was averaging before his injury.

Head coach Steve Kerr is hoping Durant will finally come back to action in Game 4, noting KD had positive workouts on Tuesday and Wednesday. All that is left is for Durant to have three-on-three and five-on-five full-contact workouts before he can rejoin his teammates on the court and make his contributions more than merely heartfelt.
