Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors did not take part in this year's postseason festivities, but this does not mean that Steph was not able to make an impact through his outstanding level of play this season. So much so, that the Dubs star took home the ESPY award for ā€œBest NBA Player,ā€ beating out fellow finalists Luka Doncic, Chris Paul, and newly-crowned league MVP Nikola Jokic.

The Warriors came out with this hype video on Twitter to congratulate Curry on his latest accolade:

Curry's win was announced on Saturday night during ABC's broadcast of their annual Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly award show in New York. The ESPY award was voted on by the fans so it is clear that Steph is still a crowd-favorite.

Curry had an amazing run this season, leading a shorthanded Warriors side to an unexpected late run for a playoff spot. They almost made it too, had it not been for the heroics of LeBron James for the Los Angeles Lakers in a truly epic play-in game. Curry and Co. then lost out to the Memphis Grizzlies for the eighth seed in the playoffs as the Warriors made it two straight years without an appearance in the postseason.

Hopefully, this will all change next season once they get Klay Thompson back. The Splash Brothers will finally be reunited on the court and with a few tweaks in their lineup, the Dubs could emerge as one of the favorites to bag next year's chip.
