The Golden State Warriors have been through a lot in the last few years. After a string of NBA championships, the team arguably hit rock bottom just as quickly as they rose up. Multiple injuries to their stars had the team languishing at the bottom of the league. Now, they've returned to the top of the league.
Despite a good fight from the Boston Celtics, the Warriors were ultimately no match for the young team. On the cusp of winning their fourth NBA Finals, Stephen Curry just couldn't help but break down in tears. Stephen Curry has every right to be this emotional after this championship victory. The Warriors' initial dynasty was cut short in tragic fashion, as both Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson suffered devastating injuries in the 2019 Finals. Since then, the Warriors never became completely healthy again, as Thompson, Curry, and Draymond Green would suffer season-ending injuries at some point.
This season, the Warriors finally became healthy for the first time in what feels like forever. Despite doubts from NBA fans, the Dubs proved that they were still a force to be reckoned with. It all came to a head in the 2022 NBA Finals, where Stephen Curry and the team dispatched the Celtics in six games.
They say that victory is sweeter once you've experienced defeat. After hitting the lowest of lows in the last few years, this Warriors win must feel absolutely great for Stephen Curry and the rest of the franchise.
