The Golden State Warriors defeated the Phoenix Suns 118-96 on Friday, ending Phoenix's 18-game winning streak. Warriors star guard Stephen Curry made a daring proclamation after he helped end the Suns' winning streak in Golden State.

“Yes, because we lost to them already,” Curry said. “You don't want them to come into your building and keep that streak going. Obviously, it doesn't mean much but just our 19th win, but it is nice to protect your home court. Something's got to give, and we've had a really good home record and nice streak going ourselves in this building, so we'd rather keep ours going than let theirs live.”

Stephen Curry is right. Especially after the Suns, perhaps the biggest threat to the Warriors out west, defeated Golden State earlier this year. It's only the regular season but ending Phoenix's winning streak while extending the Warriors' own streak of victories at the Chase Center had to be sweet for the Warriors.

Curry talked the talk after the game, but he also walked the walk, draining six three-pointers while dishing out five assists and pulling down five rebounds in the Warriors' victory.

Once can be sure that the Suns will remember Curry's words down the road when the two squads meet again, which will occur on Christmas Day. That could be an even juicier matchup between the two teams, as the Suns could have Devin Booker back while Golden State could have reinforcements in the form of star Klay Thompson.

The Suns will get a chance to defend their home court against Stephen Curry and the Warriors.
