The Golden State Warriors are 30-10 this season, but Stephen Curry and his troops aren't satisfied with just a good regular-season record. They are focused on the big goal, which is winning another NBA championship. So they won't get caught up in any trash talk about being the best team in the NBA yet.

Curry was asked if the Memphis Grizzlies should be considered legitimate contenders after the Grizzlies beat the Warriors on Tuesday night. Curry's answer was perfect.

“A big part is you talk about it right now, you got to show it in the playoffs. We want to be there to do that, I know they want to too. I know nobody is trying to win the verbal conversation right now in January,” Curry told ClutchPoints.

The Grizzlies are making their move into top-tier status. They've won 10 straight games to get to 28-14 and are the hottest team in the league right now. They are led by Ja Morant, who's in line to make his first All-Star appearance.

But regular-season success doesn't mean a thing if you don't have success in the playoffs. You can have a great regular season and then get booted out in the first round, resulting in a disappointment.

The Warriors know better than anybody that a great regular season doesn't mean much. They remember how it felt when they won 73 games to break the season record for wins, only to wind up losing in the NBA Finals to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

A successful team is made during the regular season, but it's nothing to celebrate or brag about yet.
