One game after Klay Thompson's triumphant return, the Golden State Warriors' celebratory mood got dampened after losing to the streaking Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday night.

After a tight contest all throughout, the Grizzlies did enough to pull away in the fourth quarter to fashion out a 116-108 win and extend their hot run to 10 straight victories.

Stephen Curry finished with a triple-double of 27 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. But his shooting wasn't as efficient, as he went 8-of-21 from the field, including 2-of-9 from beyond the arc. After the game, the Warriors star didn't offer many excuses for their defeat (via ESPN).

“It was just turnovers early in the game, and that gave them a lot of confidence.”

Curry isn't someone who would throw shade at the opponent, so his assessment was more of a praise for the Grizzlies. It, however, could be hard to swallow for the Warriors who had 16 turnovers compared to the 11 miscues of the Grizzlies.

With the win, Ja Morant and company improved to 29-14 and inched closer to the Warriors, who dropped to 30-10 in the Western Conference. The Warriors are in second place behind the Phoenix Suns while the Grizzlies are at fourth place behind the Utah Jazz.

Thompson had 14 points on 5-of-13 shooting in his second game for the Warriors. Draymond Green sat out anew due to tightness in his left calf.

The Warriors will have another tough challenge on Thursday when they visit the Milwaukee Bucks.
