The ending of the Friday night matchup between the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves is both cardiac and controversial at the same time. After Kevin Durant was denied of a four-point play opportunity, Stephen Curry brought some payback by drilling a difficult corner 3-pointer with 0.5 seconds remaining in overtime.

Curry's shot tied the game and he made sure the official who denied Durant the continuation knew about his feelings.

Save for Curry's late-game heroics, the Warriors failed to catch the breaks when it mattered most in Minnesota. Apparently, Durant got the brunt of the referee's judgment after two controversial calls in the game's dying seconds.

After Curry hit the 3-pointer, Durant was called for a holding foul against Karl-Anthony Towns in the ensuing play. Towns converted on one of his free throws, resulting in a final score of 131-130 for the home team.

Minnesota's squeaker spoiled a 37-point explosion from the two-time Most Valuable Player who also tallied three rebounds, five assists, two steals, and an absurd total of 11 long distance hits. Durant notched 23 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists, and two steals but shot the ball poorly, going 8-of-22 from the field.

Eight players scored in double figures for the Timberwolves led by Andrew Wiggins with 24.

The loss tied the Warriors with the Denver Nuggets for the Western Conference's best record.
