The Chicago White Sox are getting a major boost to their offense for Game 1 of the ALDS against Houston on Thursday. Jose Abreu has fully recovered from his non-COVID-19 related illness and will be good to go:

Abreu didn’t travel with the White Sox earlier this week to Texas because he was recovering from the flu. He tested negative for COVID-19 on Wednesday in which he then made his way to Houston to join the team.

The Cuban is arguably the most important hitter in Chicago’s lineup, driving in 117 runs this season, which ranked second in the Majors behind only Salvador Perez. Abreu also clubbed 30 homers and 30 doubles while hitting .261 in 152 games. The reigning AL MVP is just one piece of the puzzle for the White Sox but against a team like the Astros who have the utmost playoff experience, Tony La Russa’s squad will need to be firing on all cylinders.

Game 1 is scheduled for 1:07 PM PST at Minute Maid Park, with Cy Young candidate Lance Lynn going toe to toe with Houston ace Lance McCullers Jr. Jose Abreu leads by example and will be a key piece for the White Sox as they look to make a run at a World Series this fall.
