Wiz Khalifa has famously been putting out videos of himself training in various martial arts. Usually, he's hitting pads but sometimes you can see him doing Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

The rapper has been involved in MMA for some time as he is currently a part-owner of the promotion ‘PFL.' He performed at one of their recent events on Wednesday, putting on a concert in between fights.

Wiz Khalifa did an interview with Maxim where he discussed his love of combat sports and potentially competing.

“I’ve always been a boxing fan and when MMA started to become big, my cousins convinced me to start training in jiu-jitsu,” Khalifa told Maxim. “That was about 5 years ago.

“I love watching and [fighting is] definitely something I think about, but for now I’m happy as an owner. But you never know. I am always training so if the opportunity presents itself and is something that could be fun and good for everyone, I could see myself getting in the ring.”

It can always be tricky to figure out where you're going to compete and how you can actually make it happen. For Wiz Khalifa, being part of the PFL offers him a unique possibility.

“If Wiz ever wants to get in the cage, whether it be for an exhibition, for charity, or for a professional bout, he’s got the PFL in his corner,” said PFL CEO Peter Murray to MMAFighting. “He knows who to call.”

Only time will tell if he does actually get in the cage. MMA has a way of calling out to people and giving them ‘the itch' to compete.
