Kylian Mbappe is back at it again, as he lit up the fireworks on Monday night.

The 27-year-old forward put France on the board in a group stage match against Iraq at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, with a left-foot strike that Iraq goalkeeper Ahmed Basil failed to stop.

Mbappe's goal came just in the 14th minute of the match, giving France an early cushion to work on, while leaving Iraq with more pressure to overcome Le Bleus.

Playing in his 100th international game, Kylian Mbappe tied Brazil legend Ronaldo for third on the all-time list for World Cup goals scored, as he now has 15th to his name.

The Real Madrid striker's goal made loud noises on the pitch in France's first match in the 2026 edition of the World Cup, pulling off a brace in a 3-1 victory over Senegal.

Kylian Mbappe is always expected to lead and deliver for France, and that is exactly what he is doing for his side, which is aiming to finish the first stage of the tournament atop the Group I table.

Le Bleus will also need more goals to improve their chances of accomplishing that goal, with Norway entering Monday with the best goal differential in the group.

Overall in his international career, Mbappe has 59 goals, the most ever by a French player in history, and he could add more to that in this match against Iraq and in the next one versus Norway on Friday at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough.
