The Denver Broncos Week 10 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles was one fans would like to forget. They couldn't get anything going and to put it plainly, it was just an ugly performance all-around. We take a look at this Broncos-Eagles game with some of our Broncos Week 10 matchups in mind.

Typically the Broncos' defense is what shines but not against the Eagles. For whatever reason, Denver had no answers for Philadelphia's offense, especially the ground game. The defense must learn from this and improve if they hope to keep up in the playoff race in the AFC West.

Offensively, Denver was a mess. The run game was nearly abandoned, which took them out of this contest completely. Additionally, Teddy Bridgewater was all over the place and struggled to find a consistent target. With that said, here are three Broncos Week 10 takeaways from their game against the Eagles.

Broncos Week 10 Takeaways

3. The defense completely disappeared against the Eagles

Usually, this is Denver's strong suit. Considering how bad the Eagles have been this season, it was shocking to see Philadelphia have their way against the Broncos. They did force an interception, but only sacked Jalen Hurts once.

The pass rush disappeared and the defense couldn't stop the run. Jordan Howard and Boston Scott combined for 164 rushing yards. Neither of them are elite running backs but they found a way to gash the Broncos all day on Sunday. Denver must find a way to recover from this abysmal performance before it's too late.

2. Broncos need to run the ball much more often

The only consistency Denver had against the Eagles was their rushing attack. Unfortunately, the game got out of hand and the Broncos were forced to throw the ball more often than not. However, it's not like they had to abandon the run game altogether. Between Javonte Williams and Melvin Gordon, the Broncos totaled 93 rushing yards and one touchdown.

Not the most impressive numbers, but considering that was accomplished off of 17 carries is impressive. Williams averaged six yards per carry, while Gordon averaged five yards per carry. Had the Broncos maintained their rushing attack, they would have controlled the clock and stayed within reach of this game. Instead, they panicked and lost 30-13.

At the end of the day, the Broncos should highly consider running the ball much more often. Especially since Teddy Bridgewater is as inconsistent as they come.

1. Courtland Sutton must get more involved with the offense

With the Broncos throwing it 36 times, it's inexcusable that Courtland Sutton finished the day with just two receptions. He was only targeted three times, which just won't cut it. Sutton is easily the best receiver on the team and Bridgewater must find a way to target Courtland Sutton more often.

Sutton's 14.5 yards per catch was the highest on the team. Although he received limited work, Courtland Sutton proved to be the most efficient receiver on the team. The Broncos have some problems to solve and luckily they have a bye week coming up. Look for Denver to potentially bounce back in Week 12 against the Los Angeles Chargers. Hopefully Courtland Sutton gets more involved in that game.
