The Minnesota Vikings Week 10 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers was a doozy. It was a close game throughout and might have been the most entertaining contest on Sunday's slate. We take a look at this Vikings-Chargers game with some of our Vikings Week 10 takeaways in mind.

Defensively, Minnesota was able to hold Justin Herbert under 200 passing yards. That's a win in itself even if the Vikings ended up losing this game. This franchise has been in multiple close contests. If the defense can maintain this level of play, they could salvage their season.

On the offensive side of the ball, Minnesota looked fantastic. LA's defense has fallen apart in recent weeks, which allowed Dalvin Cook to take advantage. Additionally, the passing game was on full display as Kirk Cousins connected with Justin Jefferson frequently. With that said, here are three Vikings Week 10 takeaways from their big win over the Chargers.

Vikings Week 10 Takeaways

3. Dalvin Cook got the job done vs. the Chargers

Dalvin Cook looked great, as usual, against Los Angeles. He finished the day with 94 rushing yards and a touchdown off of 24 rush attempts. Although he technically averaged under four yards per carry, the Chargers had no answer for the Vikings superstar running back.

As long as Cook is healthy, the Vikings will have a consistent rushing attack. Minnesota is at their best when they get the run game going and that showed in this game against the Chargers. Look for Dalvin Cook to continue making noise for his team throughout the rest of the season.

2. Kirk Cousins looked like an elite quarterback

Although it's been a roller coaster of a season, Kirk Cousins has played solid football throughout. He's one of the most underrated quarterbacks in the league and proved himself against a tough Chargers secondary.

Cousins doesn't have to be a superstar for the Vikings to win. He has a plethora of weapons around him, making his job much easier. All Kirk Cousins has to do is make the right decisions, and that's exactly what he did in Sunday's game against the Chargers.

1. Justin Jefferson shows up when his team needed him most

He's not having the same season he had in his rookie campaign, however, Justin Jefferson is easily one of the best young receivers in the NFL right now. Although he failed to reach the endzone on Sunday, Jefferson provided consistency in the Vikings' ariel attack. The second-year wide receiver finished with 143 yards off of nine receptions.

The Chargers had no answers for Justin Jefferson. He dominated LA's secondary and came down with a clutch catch in traffic to ice the game. Minnesota has to continue finding ways to feed Jefferson the ball. He's the ultimate threat out wide and has the ability to take it to the house on any given play.

Justin Jefferson has looked phenomenal in his last few games and should maintain that streak moving forward. Look for the Vikings superstar receiver to keep raising the bar for himself and his team.
