The Portland Trail Blazers have fallen short of expectations during the 2019-20 NBA season after appearing in the 2019 Western Conference Finals. One fan of the Oklahoma City Thunder, in particular, took time on social media to make a jab at the expense of Damian Lillard and the Blazers.

The five-time All-Star was having none of it, however.

The anonymous Twitter user tagged Lillard in a tweet mentioning how far back Portland is compared to the Thunder in the Western Conference playoff field. He also told the 29-year-old Blazers floor general to continue “waving,” criticizing Lillard's celebrations while the team hasn't fared well.

“The fact that y’all can’t let this go just shows how bad it hurt your heart,” Lillard responded to the Thunder fan on Wednesday morning.

“You’re having a great season,” he added, referring to the surprise title contenders in the new-look Thunder, who traded stars Russell Westbrook and Paul George in the past offseason.

The Blazers and Thunder share the same division (Northwest), with Portland coming in second last year to the Denver Nuggets but later leapfrogging them to reach the conference finals in 2019 in a thrilling seven-game postseason series.

Fewer than 12 months later, the Blazers are on the outside looking into the playoff picture at 26-33 and are three games back from the young Memphis Grizzlies for the last spot in the West.

Even if the Blazers miraculously cling to the last seed and make the 2020 playoffs, this season will not be described as successful following an offseason with much roster turnover and another year without fulfilling Lillard's talent.

Nevertheless, Damian Lillard isn't accepting any negativity on his feed.
