Coming from humble beginnings, Jake Paul soon rose to prominence after finding fame on Vine and later YouTube. Growing on social media alongside his brother Logan Paul, Jake Paul slowly started venturing into boxing.

With victories over several celebrated athletes, including Mike Tyson and Nate Diaz, the 29-year-old recently expressed his interest in trying a career in the NFL. On the a16z podcast, Paul shared that after pursuing titles in boxing, he aims to become a slot receiver and ultimately play professional football.

“I do have NFL aspirations after boxing. I want to play slot receiver, and so I think to get that experience, college first would be good so I could walk onto the Stanford team. I'm being serious. The idea of it happened today. I was originally thinking I'll just go straight to the Cleveland Browns or Dallas Cowboys, but they're probably going to want to see me play first,” Paul said. “So, it might be better if I start off in college and have a little bit of an advantage over the younger, not as big kids before going into the NFL,” he finished.

However, Paul's comments were not taken lightly by NFL veteran Antonio Brown, who decided to absolutely blast him on social media. “Dude would get f***ing rocked,” Brown wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).

The internet, as well, was not receptive toward Paul's comments.  “Paying AJ $100m to box him is one thing, but dont think he can buy his way into the NFL,” wrote one comment. While another one commented, “NFL?? Jake talking crazy.” “Why are we still giving this dude a platform,” asked another social media user.

Paul is currently recovering from a broken jaw injury he received while fighting Anthony Joshua last year. While his next fight has not been confirmed yet, Paul once expressed his interest in fighting Francis Ngannou.
