The Chicago Bears 2019 was filled with big disappointments. After winning the NFC North in 2018 there were hopes they could win the division again and make a deep run into the playoffs. Instead of making the playoffs, this was a team that was out of the playoff race early and there were a lot of different players to blame.

Even though there were some struggles, there were some players who made some big jumps. Let's breakdown the three players who improved the most throughout the 2019 season.

David Montgomery – Running Back

This might not actually be a most improved case, but he had a nice season for a rookie running back not selected in the first round. The Bears didn't use him the right way and he still found a way to rush for 242 times for 889 yards and six touchdowns.

If the Bears use him as a true number one back going forward, he can be one of the best in the league. If they don't, the Bears are going to waste the career of a guy who has such a bright future.

Eddy Pineiro – Kicker

The stats aren't actually all that impressive for Eddy Pineiro, but with all the pressure he was under, he actually had success. It never seemed like Matt Nagy had much confidence in Pineiro, and not knowing if you have a job week to week can be tough.

He finished the season making 23 of his 28 field goals and 27 of his 29 extra points. He didn't miss a kick his last five games of the year and it looks like he can be a good long term player for the Bears.

Nick Williams – Defensive Tackle

Nick Williams was drafted in the seventh round in the 2014 draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers and didn't have much success for any team he played for. His best season before 2019 was in 2014 with the Kansas City Chiefs. He finished that season playing in 14 games, but only racked up nine tackles. Before coming to the Bears he never had a sack.

With the Bears in 2019 he was a dynamic player and it looks like he has revitalized his career. He played in all 16 games for the Bears, racking up 42 tackles, five tackles for a loss, and six sacks. He also had nine quarterback hits and two fumble recoveries. He will be an unrestricted free agent this coming season and the team needs to try to bring him back.
