The Detroit Lions Week 17 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks should be a decent contest. This is a great opportunity for Detroit to build some momentum before heading into the offseason. We take a look at this Lions-Seahawks game with some of our Lions Week 17 predictions in mind.

Detroit's defense hasn't been all that great, but most of the struggles can be blamed on injuries. The Seahawks have been underwhelming this year and the Lions have played well recently. To win this game, the defense must focus on Russell Wilson and DK Metcalf, as those two can light up the scoreboard at will.

Although they've struggled most of this season, the Lions have some nice weapons on the offense to build around. The last time we saw Jared Goff take the field, he put on his best performance since arriving in Detroit. His team will need a big game out of him if they hope to win. For that reason, we should see another big performance from Amon-Ra St. Brown while D'Andre Swift's return gives this team a much-needed spark.

With that said, here are four bold Lions Week 17 predictions for their matchup against the Seahawks.

Lions Week 17 Predictions

4. Lions defense shuts down Russell Wilson and DK Metcalf

Russell Wilson hasn't quite looked like himself this year. The offensive line is horrendous, which has created a chaotic atmosphere for the Seahawks' offense. Regardless, the Lions must make sure to pressure Wilson, as making him uncomfortable is a sure-fire way to win this game.

Additionally, slowing down DK Metcalf is a must. He's a monster on the outside and is a threat to score on any given play. Like Russell Wilson, Metcalf hasn't been at his best either. Even so, look for the Lions to emphasize guarding Metcalf on Sunday.

3. Jared Goff plays like a franchise quarterback

The Lions' offense has been putrid for most of the year and Jared Goff hasn't looked great. Although that's true, Goff has strung together a handful of solid performances late in the season. He seems adjusted to Detroit's offense now, which bodes well for this team. Look for him to have another great outing as the Seahawks' secondary is one of the worst in the league.

2. Amon-Ra St. Brown torches Seattle with 100+ yards and 2 touchdowns

Amon-Ra St. Brown came out of nowhere as a legitimate receiving threat for the Lions. He's looked like a superstar in their last four games and there is no reason to believe he'll slow down anytime soon. He has a favorable matchup against Seattle, as the Seahawks can't stop the pass to save their lives. Look for St. Brown to produce like an elite receiver again on Sunday.

1. D'Andre Swift makes a case as the best running back in the league

He's been a machine for the Lions this year, serving as a star running back. Not only that, but D'Andre Swift has showcased elite talent as a passing option as well. Detroit has a rising superstar on their hands and he could be in for a massive performance against the Seahawks.

Seattle has one of the worst defenses in the league, which bodes well for the Lions in general. However, for D'Andre Swift, this is the perfect matchup for his return from injury. We should expect to see Swift put up huge numbers and show the NFL he's the real deal. Too bad for Seattle, as it'll come at their expense.
