Firefly is a 5-star Fire Destruction character that we first encountered in Penacony during Version 2.0. Our tour guide, who turned out to be a Stellaron Hunter, is finally going to be available. Should you get her, or plan on getting her, then here's our Honkai Star Rail guide on the best build for Firefly, from her Light Cones to her Relics and more.

Honkai Star Rail Guide – Firefly Light Cones and Relics Build

Do note that this guide is for the currently available or immediately upcoming Light Cones and Relics. Should new sets of Light Cones and Relics appear in Honkai Star Rail that are better for Firefly, we will be sure to update this guide.

Firefly Abilities Overview

We already talked about Firefly's abilities in a separate article. However, for this guide let's go through them quickly.

Firefly is a 5-Star Fire Destruction character. Those on the path of Destruction are capable of dealing huge amounts of damage and possess survivability. They are more flexible damage dealers compared to those who are under Erudition and The Hunt.

Her Basic Attack, Order: Flare Propulsion, deals Fire DMG to a single enemy. Her Skill, Order: Aerial Bombardment, consumes a fixed amount of Firefly's HP to regenerate Energy. Additionally, the skill deals fire DMG to a single enemy.

Her Ultimate, Fyrefly Type-IV: Complete Combustion, makes Firefly enter the Complete Combustion state, and adds a countdown timer in the Action Order. This advances her Action by 100% and empowers her Basic Attack and Skill. It also increases her Speed, as well as her Weakness Break efficiency, and Break DMG.

Her Empowered Basic Attack restores Firefly's HP and deals Fire DMG to a single enemy. Her Empowered Skill deals a higher amount of HP, applies Fire Weakness to a single target, and deals Fire DMG to said target as well as adjacent units.

Once the countdown timer reaches the top, Firefly exits the Complete Combustion state.

Her Talent, Chrysalid Pyronexus, reduces the DMG that Firefly receives the lower her HP is, reaching its maximum effect at 20% HP or lower. Additionally, when in Complete Combustion, the DMG reduction is at its max, and Firefly's Effect RES increases.

Her Talent also regenerates 50% of energy if her energy is lower than 50%. At maximum energy, all debuffs on Firefly is dispelled.

Firefly Traces Priority

When leveling her traces, focus on leveling her Skill first, as that is her main source of damage. It also increases the amount of Energy she gets when she uses it. Follow this up with her Ultimate, which increases the SPD and Break DMG bonus she receives.

Next is her Talent, which will increase the Effect RES it provides. Finally, level her Basic Attack, as it will ideally be your least used attack.

As for the Major Traces, get Core Overload first, then Autoreactive Armor, and finally Antilag Outburst. Prioritize getting the Break Effect and SPD nodes.

Firefly Light Cones Guide

All values given here are at maximum Superimposed.

Whereabouts Should Dreams Rest: Increases the wearer's Break Effect by 100%. When the wearer deals Break DMG to an enemy target, inflicts Routed on the enemy, lasting for 2 turn(s). Targets afflicted with Routed receive 40% increased Break DMG from the wearer, and their SPD is lowered by 20%.

This is Firefly's Signature Light Cone, and is perhaps the best for her. It gives her a whole lot of Break Effect, while also allowing her to apply Routed on an enemy whenever she deals Break DMG. This allows her to deal even more damage to the enemy, while also slowing them down.

On the Fall of an Aeon: Whenever the wearer attacks, their ATK is increased by 16% in this battle. This effect can stack up to 4 time(s). After a character inflicts Weakness Break on an enemy, the wearer's DMG increases by 24% for 2 turn(s).

This is perhaps the best F2P Light Cone for Firefly for various reasons. The first is that it is free, with players able to get an S5 version of it just by playing Simulated Universe. The second is that it can give up to 64% additional ATK once Firefly gets max stacks.

Lastly, when Firefly applies Weakness BReak on an enemy, her damage is increased by up to 24%. This DMG increase works really well with Firefly.

Indelible Promise: Increases the wearer's Break Effect by 56%. When the wearer uses their Ultimate, increases CRIT Rate by 30%, lasting for 2 turn(s).

This is another good alternative F2P Light Cone for Firefly thanks to the up to 56% Break Effect it provides. not only that, but the up to 30% CRIT Rate increase after using her Ultimate helps her deal even more damage while in her empowered form.

The Moles Welcome You: When the wearer uses Basic ATK, Skill, or Ultimate to attack enemies, the wearer gains one stack of Mischievous. Each stack increases the wearer's ATK by 24%.

This is the last Light Cone that could work with Firefly thanks to the up to 72% ATK bonus that it provides. Players do, however, have to make sure that they use Firefly's Basic ATK, Skill, and Ultimate to get all three stacks of Mischievous.

Firefly Relics Guide

4-piece Iron Cavalry Against the Scourge

  • Increases Break Effect by 16%.
  • If the wearer's Break Effect is 150% or higher, ignores 10% of the enemy target's DEF when dealing Break DMG to them. When the wearer's Break Effect is 250% or higher, the Super Break DMG they deal to enemy targets additionally ignores 15% of the targets' DEF.

This is perhaps the best Relics build for Firefly thanks to just how much it gives her. For starters, it gives her a flat 16% Break Effect, helping her build it up. Additionally, once players get 250% Break Effect with her, they will deal more Super Break DMG, as well as deal more Break DMG.

The only downside, though, is that players must reach 250% or higher Break Effect.

2-piece each of Iron Cavalry Against the Scourge, Watchmaker, Master of Dream Machinations, or Thief of Shooting Meteor

  • Increases Break Effect by 16%.
  • Increases Break Effect by 16%.

This is a good placeholder Relics build for Firefly as it gives her a flat 32% Break effect. The downside of this Relics build is that it gives Firefly nothing else.

2-piece Iron Cavalry Against the Scourge, Watchmaker, Master of Dream Machinations, or Thief of Shooting Meteor & 2-piece Messenger Traversing Hackerspace

  • Increases Break Effect by 16%.
  • Increases SPD by 6%.

This is a good mix of Relics for Firefly as it gives her two things she needs: Break Effect and SPD. The Break Effect helps her deal more damage, while more SPD lets her attack more while empowered.

2-piece Forge of the Kalpagni Lantern

  • Increase the wearer's SPD by 6%. When the wearer hits enemy targets with Fire Weakness, the wearer's Break Effect increases by 40%, lasting for 1 turn(s).

This is the best Planar Ornament when fixing Firefly's Relics build as it gives her speed, as well as a lot of Break Effect. Since Firefly's Technique and empowered Skill applies Fire Weakness, Firefly will almost always have the additional Break Effect.

2-piece Talia: Kingdom of Banditry

  • Increases the wearer's Break Effect by 16%. When the wearer's SPD reaches 145 or higher, the wearer's Break Effect increases by an extra 20%.

This is a good alternative Planar Ornament for Firefly thanks to the up to 36% Break Effect that it can give her. The only downside is that Firefly does need to get 145 speed or more from her other Relics to get the full effect.

2-piece Firmament Frontline: Glamoth

  • Increases the wearer's ATK by 12%. When the wearer's SPD is equal to or higher than 135/160, the wearer deals 12%/18% more DMG.

Unironically, Firmament Frontline: Glamoth is also a good Planar Ornament for Firefly thanks to its two sources of additional DMG: ATK and DMG increase. It will need at least 160 speed for maximum effectiveness, however.

For Firefly's Relics Stats, try to get ATK% for her Body, SPD for the Feet, ATK%% for the Sphere, and Break Effect% for the Rope. For Substats, get Break Effect%, Speed, ATK%, and ATK.

Firefly Team Guide

Firefly excels in Break Teams, especially Super Break teams. Anyone that can increase her Break Effect and her Weakness Break Efficiency are good teammates for her.

Here are some possible team compositions for Firefly

Premium Firefly Team

  • Firefly Main DPS
  • Harmony Trailblazer Support
  • Ruan Mei Support
  • Gallagher Healer

This is perhaps the best team for Firefly with the currently available characters in Honkai: Star Rail thanks to how it all synergizes. Harmony Trailblazer provides Break Effect Buffs, as well as the all-important Super Break. Ruan Mei increases the team's overall DMG, as well as their Weakness Break Efficiency.

Gallagher, on the other hand, provides healing for the team, as well as apply the Besotted state on enemies, making them take even more Break DMG.

F2P Firefly Team

  • Firefly Main DPS
  • Harmony Trailblazer Support
  • Asta Support
  • Gallagher Healer

This is a pretty decent F2P team for Firefly, using 4-star units that the player likely has already, as well as the Harmony Trailblazer. This team acts similarly to the team above, except with the addition of Asta.

Asta can provide a SPD buff to the entire team, which in turn increases Firefly's SPD. This can potentially give Firefly more turns for her Complete Combustion state.

These team compositions are just suggestions. It is up to the player how they want to use Firefly.
