Minnesota Timberwolves guard Ricky Rubio has been included in a lot of trade rumors recently. And even if team owner Glen Taylor made it clear that they will not trade the 25-year-old Spaniard, the chatter just won't seem to go away.

One of the teams reportedly interested in the young point guard is the Sacramento Kings, according to Darren Wolfson of 1500 ESPN on The Scoop Podcast. The Kings are looking into getting their point guard of the future as last year's starter and former All-Star Rajon Rondo left in free agency while back-up Darren Collison is dealing with domestic violence charges.

Rubio may seem expendable as the Timberwolves drafted Providence standout Kris Dunn as the 5th overall pick in this year's draft. He will surely share the minutes at point guard with the Spanish star .

A swap of Rubio and Rudy Gay is something a lot consider as a win-win situation for both teams as it will address both their needs. Gay has been vocal about not understanding the Kings' direction and though not saying it directly, might be better off with a change of scenery.

The 6'4″ point guard has proved that he is one of best passing guards in the league today and owns career averages of 10.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, and an impressive 8.3 assists in 31.5 minutes per game. If he indeed gets moved to Sacramento, he can feed franchise player DeMarcus Cousins with a lot of good passes that he can convert into easy baskets.

It will be very interesting to see how this chatter develops, but for sure, Rubio will contribute well to any team if he's given playing time as he has shown in his five years in the NBA.
