When the Chicago Bulls decided to trade guard Derrick Rose, they clearly had to make a move to acquire a point guard to lead their team.

A couple of days of talking to teams and mulling his options after a very successful, one-year stint with the Sacramento Kings, unrestricted free agent guard Rajon Rondo has agreed to a two-year deal worth $28 million with the Chicago Bulls

Rondo appeared in 72 games for the Kings last season, averaging 11.9 points, 6.0 rebounds, 11.7 assists, and 2.0 steals in what was a controversial season with the Kings. After a bad second half to the 2014-15 season for the Mavericks, Rondo was out to prove that he can still play at an all-star level with Sacramento. Those numbers didn't result in victories for the Kings, but Rondo is no doubt an all-star caliber guard after his performance last season.

Brian Windhorst of ESPN reports that the second year of Rondo's deal is partially guaranteed.

Jimmy Butler and the Bulls now have a pass first point guard who will be the ultimate distributor for them.
