Anthony Davis hasn't missed a single game for the Los Angeles Lakers this season. But that hasn't meant AD has had a clean bill of health while on the court.

The Lakers big man dealt with an illness earlier in the season that had him vomiting mid-game. Anthony Davis went through a similar ordeal on Tuesday night as he was questionable with flu-like symptoms. AD was dealing with a hell of a fever that had him basically bedridden just before their latest contest in Madison Square Garden against the New York Knicks.

Via Lakers reporter Mike Trudell:

Davis basically had to sit in his room all day, hoping his fever would break. He arrived late to the arena, and said it was almost like AAU where he just showed up and had to start playing without a warm up, which he’s never done before. Clearly didn’t have his typical energy.

Anthony Davis didn't have a terrible game by any means. He finished with 20 points, six rebounds, and three assists on the evening. But the Lakers star was evidently lethargic on the court, far removed from the defensive juggernaut that thwarts attackers at the rim.

The fact that LeBron James was missing the game due to a one-game suspension from his skirmish with Isaiah Stewart the previous game probably motivated him to suit up a little bit extra. The Lakers needed him more than ever, and Anthony Davis gave the team all he had. Here's to hoping we see the healthy version of AD for the rest of the season.
