Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James clinched another personal milestone on Sunday. The King passed legendary shooter Ray Allen for the second-most 3-pointers made in NBA playoff history.

James knocked down his 386th playoff triple in the first half of the Lakers' Game 2 West semis showdown versus the Houston Rockets. Allen, for his part, had 365 postseason triples 171 games.

Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry still holds the number one spot with 470 makes. James also surpassed Curry's teammate and “Splash Brother”Klay Thompson for third place in the list last month.

The pair exchanged a playful banter on Twitter afterwards.

LeBron James and Ray Allen, meanwhile, do share some history together after spending time as teammates with the Miami Heat from 2012 to 2014.

Allen played a big role in LeBron's second NBA title in 2013 after hitting that clutch 3-pointer in Game 6 of the Finals against the San Antonio Spurs.

While Allen is no doubt a better and more efficient shooter than James, it's only inevitable that the Lakers superstar will achieve the feat. James, after all, only missed the playoffs thrice in his storied 17-year career so far.

The four-time NBA MVP wasn't considered a knockdown shooter when he first took the league by storm in 2003. LeBron, however, improved that facet of his game over the years, especially as he got up in age.

James shot 34.8 percent from downtown for the Lakers in the 2019-20 regular season. He is a 34.4 percent 3-point shooter in his career.

The Lakers, meanwhile, will certainly need more of those 3-pointers from James in their semis series against the trigger-happy Rockets.
