Detroit Pistons legend and NBA Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas believes Los Angeles Lakers star forward LeBron James is the greatest player in league history.

Thomas took to Twitter on Thursday to give his two cents on why “King James” is the best player to ever grace the hardwood:

“The best and most ‘complete' player I have seen in my lifetime is [LeBron] on and off the floor,” Thomas tweeted. “He passed the eye test and the numbers confirm what my eyes have seen in every statistical category. #Goat let it be known!”

This is not the first time Thomas has hailed LeBron as the greatest player in NBA history, though he seems to change his mind on the matter every year.

Isiah has labeled numerous players as his “GOAT,” including Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Wilt Chamberlain.

However, it seems Thomas is growing more comfortable in his assertions LeBron is the best basketball player to ever live. He said late last month James will pass Abdul-Jabbar for the top spot:

“I’ve never seen a player dominate so many statistical categories,” Thomas said, via Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated. “We’ve had players dominate certain areas, but we’ve never seen a player that truly does it all. And he’s done it, without fail, for 17 years. For now, Kareem is the best that’s ever done it. But by the time he’s done, LeBron James will be the best we have ever seen play the game of basketball.”

Now, with James and the Lakers on the cusp of an NBA title, Thomas is prepared to give LeBron the crown.

The “GOAT” debate has always been rather arbitrary and subjective, especially when it comes to Thomas and his tendency to change narratives. But Isiah appears totally enamored with what James continues to do at 35 years old.
