Former NBA player Metta World Peace is bullish about LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers' chances of getting to the 2019 NBA Finals.

On CBS Sports HQ with Bill Reiter on Monday, Metta World Peace — who won a championship with Los Angeles in 2010 — says he could very well see the Lakers playing in the Finals come June.

“It's really cool, but you know for me, I played with Brandon Ingram, and I played with [Ivica] Zubac, so I'm more excited about those guys,” World Peace said, via Jack Maloney  of CBS Sports. “And then I'm also from New York, so then I'm also really excited for Lance Stephenson.

“And then after that, LeBron James. For me personally, as a Laker fan, it's really encouraging to see the Lakers have the opportunity to go to the playoffs. And I'm pretty sure LeBron James isn't trying to be out in the first round. A lot of people got the Lakers fourth or fifth, but LeBron James in his head, he has them first. So I could very well see the Lakers going to the Finals.”

The Golden State Warriors are the overwhelming favorites to get to the Finals from the West, but it would be a shock to everyone if the Dubs don't win it all. LeBron James is putting up monster numbers this season, but the Lakers just don't have enough talent to dethrone the Warriors.

If you're an LA fan, you have to love the confidence that Metta World Peace has. Until the Purple and Gold get another superstar player alongside LeBron, though, it's very doubtful this team can beat the Warriors.
