The Orlando Magic have announced some horrible news as they found out that their star rookie, Jalen Suggs, will miss an extended period of time after injuring his right thumb. It is reported that Jalen Suggs fractured his right thumb during the fourth quarter of the loss against the Philadelphia 76ers.

The magic lost to the Sixers 101-96. Jalen Suggs was having a good game as he had 17 points, five assists, and three rebounds in only 29 minutes.

This is an unfortunate blow for the Magic as they already are missing Cole Anthony. They are 4-18 on the season and it doesn't look like they're going to be able to turn it around anytime soon.

All the Magic were hoping for this season was to get some of their young guys to develop. With this latest injury to Jalen Suggs, it doesn't look too promising.

Expect Suggs to be out longer than most people are with a thumb fracture because the future of this Magic organization relies heavily on the success of Suggs. Considering that the Magic are 4-18 on the season, there would be no reason for them to bring him back until he is 100% healthy. The playoffs are already out of the picture and this might be a good time to just regroup and possibly even trade away some key pieces once again at the trade deadline. It is unclear if he will need surgery or how long he will be out.
