New York Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau took responsibility for his team's recent disappointing loss to Orlando Magic on Wednesday. After a game which saw his team collapse after taking the lead in the first quarter, Thibodeau admitted the loss was on him. Speaking to reporters about the 104-98 defeat, he said:

“We're capable of playing a lot better than we did, we give them credit, they played well, they played hard, we didn't. I have to do a better job getting them ready, that's on me, so we'll take a good, hard look at it.”

When analyzing his team's performance, Thibodeau emphasized his team's issues with turnovers and rebounding. The Knicks committed 18 turnovers throughout the game, while they faltered in the rebounding battle totaling 45 to Magic's 51. Thibodeau also discussed his team's lack of focus, saying:

”You have to play for 48 minutes. You can't let your guard down. Unfortunately, we beat ourselves tonight. Our turnovers hurt us. We're capable of playing a lot better than we did. We give them credit. They played well. They played hard. We didn't.”

Currently 7th in the Eastern Conference standings, the Knicks have had their fair share of defensive concerns this year. This, together with a poor offensive performance, saw the Knicks fall to the Magic on Wednesday. The Knicks trailed by 10 late into the third quarter after going over 5 minutes without making a basket.

Now with a 3-6 record in their last nine games, the Knicks will be hoping to pick up a win against Houston in Madison Square Garden on Saturday. If they are to bounce back, Tom Thibodeau's efforts in better preparing his players will prove crucial.
