Since the end of last season, the relationship between Kristaps Porzingis and the New York Knicks has reportedly not been at its best. It has been talked and written about a lot of times over the past couple months, as speculations emerged about the Latvian international being unhappy playing for the team.

More fuel was even added to the fire when then-team president Phil Jackson made him available for trade. However, now with The Zen Master no longer calling the shots for the organization, Knicks forward Mindaugas Kuzminskas claimed, via Marc Berman of the New York Post, that Porzingis and the team’s front office have now made peace and are ready to move on from the unwanted situation they were in.

“I don’t think it was something personal against the club. If there [were] some problems I think they solved everything. No doubt he wants to be a Knick and he’s said that.’’

If this is indeed true, it can be considered as very good news for the New York faithful, as they do not want any more added negativity surrounding their team. It also proves that Porzingis really wants to continue his career in The Big Apple, like what his brother said in the past. He is thought of by many as the Knicks’ future franchise player, and the one who could help make them a winning group once again.

With all the uncertainty on Carmelo Anthony’s future, hearing Kuzminskas’ comments surely bring a good feeling to the team’s supporters, as they only want Porzingis to focus on playing basketball and not have any issues with management anymore. He is fresh coming off another solid season, and if he continues to show improvement in his game, the Knicks’ dry spell of missing out on the playoffs may be coming to an end soon.
