The MLB All-Star Game is on Tuesday night in Denver at Coors Field, and the All-Stars from both leagues gathered on Monday to spend some time with the media before the Home Run Derby kicked off. The best of the best all together in one place at the Midsummer Classic is always a treat. San Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr., starting at shortstop and batting leadoff for the National League, spoke highly of Los Angeles Angels phenom Shohei Ohtani.
"I'm just the same kid on the field trying to have fun."

Ohtani received heavy praise from Tatis, and both of these young phenoms have quickly become the faces of baseball. Ohtani does it all and is the starting pitcher for the American League AND batting leadoff and the top seed in the Home Run Derby.
Tatis is a marvel of his own and is one of the favorites to walk away with the MVP award as the Padres are likely headed for a playoff spot. Tatis also channeled Marshawn Lynch with a typical Beast Mode comment during his media time.
By far the biggest crowd at NL Media Day was for this guy, and he handled it like a pro. Sat down and joked, “I’m just here so I don’t get fined” and then proceeded to answer every question asked of him by a huge crowd for an hour, laughing and smiling along the way. #Padres pic.twitter.com/CgP1RoSihs

Typical Tatis, who is a star at home and on the road and beloved by seemingly everybody in the game, as is Ohtani.
Both of these stars have become the faces of the MLB, and Southern California, in general, vaults a ton of stars across the game of baseball.
Tune in to the All-Star Game and see these two superstars leadoff at the plate for their respective squads.
