The NASCAR Cup Series heads to Martinsville and another short track event for the Cook Out 400.  It is time to continue our NASCAR Cup Series odd series with a Cook Out 400 at Martinsville prediction, pick, and how to watch.

Last week at Richmond, Denny Hamlin took the win on the short track. Meanwhile, Joey Logano, Kyle Larson, and Martin Truex all finished in the Top five. Larson is a defending champion here at Martinsville, winning in the spring race in 2023. Larson, Hamlin, and Truex also were top five finishers in that race as well.

Martinsville is another short track. It has two 800-foot straight away, with short turns on the oval-sharped asphalt track. The track is just .526 miles long and is called a paper-clip style track due to the length against the quick turns that are just 11 degrees. Overall, Martinsville is a unique track, but there are very small similarities to New Hampshire, North Wilkesboro, and Richmond.

Cup Series at Martinsville Prediction & Pick

Short tracks normally lead to favorites doing well, or losing early. That has been the case for many of these drivers. It is either a strong performance or an early crash and loss. Still, there are a few plays with the favorites, and drivers who have done well recently. The drivers who come in hot and who have done well at Martinsville in the past are who to target in this one overall. Still, winning back-to-back weeks is tough, but while Hamling will have a solid week, he will not be the winner.
