Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold is fighting back after his arrest in Florida. The 23-year-old voluntarily turned himself in at Orient Road Jail in Hillsborough County on Wednesday night and is facing four counts of kidnapping and four counts of armed robbery.

The felony charges carry a potential life sentence. He is being held without bond and is due in court on Thursday.

His camp came to his defense soon after he surrendered. “Terrion Arnold categorically denies any involvement in the matters underlying the allegations made against him and maintains his innocence, ” Denise White, the CEO of EAG Sports Management, opened the statement firmly.

White went on to argue that there is no credible evidence tying Arnold to the allegations and claimed the government is leaning on testimony from convicted felons who have admitted their own roles and may have reason to shift the blame. She added that Arnold looks forward to his day in court and is confident the process will clear his name.

The charges stem from a February incident in Tampa that police describe as a targeted armed robbery and kidnapping. Investigators have named Arnold as the primary conspirator. According to police, three victims were lured to an apartment, held at gunpoint, beaten, and robbed before being forced from the scene.

Authorities say the plot followed a separate theft at an Airbnb that Arnold had been renting in Largo. Police later determined the three victims had no involvement in that theft. Six other people have been arrested in the case, and two co-defendants entered guilty pleas on Wednesday.

The Lions said they are aware of the situation and will not comment out of respect for the ongoing legal process. The NFL said it is aware and in contact with the team.

Arnold was the No. 24 overall pick in the 2024 draft out of Alabama. He has started 22 games across two seasons, though a shoulder injury limited him to eight games last year.
