The Brooklyn Nets came into their Tuesday night tilt against the Golden State Warriors white-hot. They had won eight of their last nine games and had eyes on another against Stephen Curry and co.

But the game was lopsided in the other direction as the Nets were ran out of their own building, 117-99. Steve Nash was asked about the Warriors loss and some of the other marquee matchups they've had this season that didn't end well for them. The Nets head coach gave a brutally honest answer.

Via ESPN's Tim Bontemps:

Steve Nash, on if he’s worried about losing to the top teams the Nets have played so far — the Warriors, Heat, Bulls and Bucks: “We’re not in that tier yet.”

At 10-5, the Nets indeed hold one of the league's best records. But most of their wins have been against below-averaged opponents. Against opponents with a winning record today, Brooklyn is 2-5 in such contests.

Their only wins have been way early into the season in their second and fourth games against the Philadelphia 76ers and the Washington Wizards respectively.

The Brooklyn Nets may still be without Kyrie Irving, but their roster is replete with talent enough to contend for a title. As Steve Nash said, however, their latest Warriors loss shows they still have a long way to go.
