Despite Houston Rockets star James Harden voicing his desire to join the Brooklyn Nets, head coach Steve Nash has made it clear that he's not aware of any negotiations between the two organizations, per the Athletic's Alex Schiffer:

Harden has made it no secret that he doesn't want to play for the Rockets anymore. He made that very clear by showing up late to training camp then also getting fined $50,000 for violating the NBA's COVID-19 protocols.

When the Bearded one initially said that he wanted out of Houston, the 31-year old made the Nets one of his preferred destinations as he wanted to team up with former teammate Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. But it was clearly just a rumor, because Nash has made it very known that no discussions have been held between the two teams.

Harden has recently opened up his preferred landing spots to the Boston Celtics and Portland Trail Blazers as well. Obviously, the Rockets will expect a lot in return for Harden, but considering how unhappy he seems, it could be time for the eight-time All-Star to move on.

As for the Nets, they would also need to put together quite the package to even land Harden. The likes of Caris LeVert, Spencer Dinwiddie, and/or Joe Harris would probably have to be included. Given how deep of a roster they currently have, it's no surprise that Brooklyn hasn't really engaged in any talks for Harden as they're currently one of the heavy favorites in the Eastern Conference.
