Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray scored a career-high 48 points this past Monday night against the Boston Celtics. Murray, however, tried to score 50 points by shooting the ball as the buzzer sounded — an unnecessary move according to the players' unwritten rule on sportsmanship.

Celtics star Kyrie Irving took offense to that. When he got the ball, Irving threw the ball into the stands, and it landed somewhere in the crowd. It seemed like a young fan got the ball, then returned it prior to their home game Friday night versus the Brooklyn Nets.

As reward, Jamal Murray gave the young fan a pair of shoes — a very cool gesture by Murray.

Jamal Murray's 48 points were the most by a Nuggets player since Carmelo Anthony. Which makes for a historic night not only for Murray but for the Nuggets franchise.

It was one of the most efficient 48 points you will ever see. Murray shot 19-for-30 from the field and 5-for-11 from 3-point distance. He also collected five rebounds and four assists. With a player on the rise such as Murray, the Nuggets are now one of the most surprising teams so far.

This core has been together for several years, and it now seems like they have developed great chemistry together.

Nonetheless, this is a really cool gesture by the young fan to bring the ball back to Murray. One would think he would keep it as a souvenir and maybe sell it online, but he did the right thing to give it back.
