Philadelphia 76ers superstar Ben Simmons was at the receiving end of some NSFW remarks after his embarrassing performance in Game 7 against the Atlanta Hawks. The Australian was the first Sixers star who was immediately thrown under the bus by the very passionate fanbase in Philadelphia hours after the Sixers were officially eliminated from the playoffs in a tough seven-game series against the Hawks.

“Ben Simmons you crumbum piece of sh-t. Waste of f-cking money, you got five points. Get the f-ck out my city you piece of sh-t.” a fan outside the Wells Fargo Center said (via NBA Central).

Other fans had the same not-so-warm sentiment for the three-time All-Star.
“[Ben] Simmons, you're banned from this city,” a few enraged fans added, as well as suggesting that the big guard should be on his way to join the Shanghai Sharks (via primemaxey).

Simmons was obviously the easy target for fans everywhere after his disappointing stint against the Hawks this series. The 6'11” court general was virtually non-existent on offense during crucial stages of the series and logged in zero shot attempts in the fourth period in Philadelphia's last four games against Atlanta.
Yes, Simmons isn't getting paid to get buckets but you would think that he should be out there on the floor aggressively trying to create shots rather than passively passing the ball and waiting for the next defensive possession to show up. Simmons even passed out a wide-open shot in the fourth quarter of Game 7 which was a huge turning point of the series, as Joel Embiid described it.
If I were Ben, I'd probably turn off social media for a few days.
