Stephen Jackson will make due on his promise to attempt an NBA comeback.

The 14-year NBA veteran talked to Rodger Bohn of SLAM Magazine about his plans to re-enter the league after his retirement in 2014.

“I’ve been been playing basketball at a high level and my body feels great,” said Jackson. “I got calls from different coaches who have seen me work out and they know I can still play. I’ve got two years left, so why not give it back to the game?”

“My whole career, I’ve never had no serious injuries or no surgeries. These last seven months, I’ve been doing two-a-days to get ready. I know I have a good two years left and hopefully I can help somebody.”

Jackson was thrice a 20-point a night scorer. He saw his best years with the Golden State Warriors from 2007 to 2009 and the Charlotte Hornets during the 2009-10 season.

After that phase, his heavy minutes decreased – as did his efficiency and production. Jackson went from a pedestrian three-point shooter to a below-average one, often upsetting coaches with his ill-advised shot selection.

S-Jax is hellbent on making the NBA and won't consider an alternative, as he told SLAM:

“(It's) NBA or nothing, man. I don’t need the money. I just want to give back to the game. Anything else is a step down, so I just want to give the NBA a shot.”

Among his target destinations are Chicago, New York and New Orleans.

The 38-year-old Stephen Jackson has been out of the league for two years and was last seen playing for the L.A. Clippers, averaging 1.7 points and 1.1 rebounds per game in 11.9 minutes of play.
