Alex Caruso on what it’s like to go against his former teammate, Lakers forward LeBron James: “It's tough, man. He's a strong dude and he's still 6’8. He’s a really hard matchup for a lot of guys in the league. Not a lot of people have a 6’8, 250-pound guy that can handle his moves. It's always fun competing against him. Anytime I play against the greats of the league, of the history of the league, I try to rise to the occasion and compete and play well because that's the fun part about the NBA. It’s testing yourself against the best. So, just trying to make sure that I'm locked into play against him. Then coming back here, you want to play well against the former team.”

Austin Reaves on what frustrated him tonight vs. OKC: “I think I just got frustrated when I didn't get the foul call, got the tech, let that kind of get to me a little bit. But yeah, it was just; I thought it was obvious. I told Eric [Dalen], he was the closest ref. If it was anybody else, I would’ve said the same thing to him. I just didn't know how all three of them could miss that. So, I was just a little frustrated after that and couldn't get back in the flow.”

LeBron on Lakers’ defensive effort: “I thought defensively we played very good. For the first half, we let Isaiah Joe get way too many looks, especially [in] that first quarter. He had three threes in the first quarter and four in the first half. We did not execute our switching lineups where we allowed him to stop behind a couple and make some threes. But listen, for the majority of the second half, I thought we were really good. Defensively, we didn't have that many lapses. Obviously, J-Dub (Jalen Williams) hit a couple shots late in the fourth, but we had bodies on bodies. [Chet] Holmgren hit a tough one in the paint as well, but I didn't think our defense was a problem.”

LeBron James on what the difference was down the stretch vs. OKC: “[They] made shots. Mostly we got some really good looks in the fourth quarter, just wasn't able to come through. They were able to make some, get some 50-50 balls, get some extra possessions. Yeah, sometimes it’s just make or miss, and they made more than we did in the fourth.”
