Aside from talent and skill, an athlete would also need a healthy dose of self-belief in order to succeed at the highest levels of competition in any sport. Minnesota Timberwolves rookie and 2020 first overall pick Anthony Edwards has proven that he is brimming with talent, and in a recent interview, he showed that he isnā€™t lacking in confidence either.

This is legitimately hilarious:

In the interview, Edwards was asked about being a multi-sport athlete when he was younger, and the 19-year-old responded that he could excel in any sport. When asked if he could play a sport aside from ping-pong, baseball, football, and basketball, the former Georgia Bulldog responded that he can also excel in tennis, swimming, and lacrosse.

ā€œWhatever you need me to do, Iā€™m gonna do it, as long as thereā€™s money on the line, Iā€™m gonna do it,ā€ Edwards said, even adding that he can excel in golf, hockey, and even things that arenā€™t really considered sports such as trash can ball and cooking food.

While it remains to be seen whether Edwards can excel in the other sports and non-sporting activities that he mentioned, itā€™s clear that he is capable of playing at a high level in basketball.

In his NBA debut, the rookie finished with 15 points, four rebounds, and four assists in 25 minutes of play in the Timberwolvesā€™ 111-101 win over the Detroit Pistons in their season opener. After his first game, the Atlanta native said he didnā€™t find the transition from college to the pros difficult, since he was double-teamed all the time during his time at Georgia.

While itā€™s unclear whether he can be ā€œA1 from Day 1ā€ in the other sports that he mentioned, itā€™s apparent that there is one sport that Anthony Edwards is already capable of dominating.
