Standing at 5 feet and 9 inches, Isaiah Thomas is clearly at a disadvantage against many of his opponents. Even for a point guard, Thomas simply isn't tall enough to score dominantly or defend his position like most superstar point guards in the NBA.

Nonetheless, Thomas uses his height to his advantage most of the time, beating slow defenders with his speed. On defense, Thomas is a blatant liability and it has hurt most of his teams. There are countless times when opposing defenders simply get the best of Thomas by taking advantage of his size.

It's a common practice for defenders to stand in front of the explosive guard and contest any shot he throws up with outstretched arms, hoping that they can get an easy block in the process. Against the Timberwolves on Thursday, that proved to be just the case. In the game, Isaiah Thomas attempted a good shot but was vehemently rejected by Karl Anthony-Towns.

The monstrous block has to be demoralizing for Thomas. Granted, the Lakers point guard is likely used to his height now that he can't do anything about it, but getting rejected at the rim like that could startle any player. Karl-Anthony Towns obviously wanted to teach Thomas a fundamentally sound basket, a lesson that plainly states that no one will attack the paint when he is protecting it. Apparently, Thomas learned the hard way.

Nonetheless, the game currently isn't over and Thomas had a chance to redeem himself and get back at Towns for blocking him. Maybe Thomas might block Towns on one of his shot attempts. Stranger things have happened in the NBA.
