USMNT and Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie has reportedly agreed to a transfer to Premier League side Leeds United, pending the fee agreement between the two European clubs.

Juventus and Leeds are reportedly still negotiating the transfer fee for the USMNT star, per Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio. According to previous reports, the Serie A club is seeking a transfer fee in the €25 million range or about $27 million, according to ESPN.

It remains to be seen if Juventus and Leeds will be able to agree on a figure to complete the transfer of McKennie, though it is definitely surprising that the 24-year-old midfielder agreed to moving to the Peacocks. For what it's worth, he reportedly dismissed interests from Aston Villa, Fulham and Bournemouth.

Arsenal is also said to be keen on making a move for Weston McKennie, making the Leeds choice a bit more shocking. Not that it has been reported that the Gunners actually inquired for his services.

Then again, perhaps McKennie loves the American connection in Leeds. For those not in the know, the team has American players in Brenden Aaronson and Tyler Adams in their ranks. There's also American head coach Jesse Marsch managing the team, so that could have played a role in his desire to join the Premier League club.

For now fans can only wait and see what Juventus will do. Clearly McKennie wants out amid the scandal the team is facing, though Juve still has the power to decide on what they want to do.
