News surfaced this morning that the Golden State Warriors were reportedly hoping to have All-Star point guard Stephen Curry available to return from injury on Friday night as the team hosts the Atlanta Hawks.

Curry, who sprained his right ankle on February 8th in a game against the visiting San Antonio Spurs, missed the last six games for the Warriors and was set to be re-evaluated today, March 20th. The results of the exam were positive, with Curry making good progress and being cleared to participate in full team practices starting Wednesday with the hope that he will be able to suit up later this week.

Without Curry in the lineup, the Warriors have lost four of their last six games and are just 11-9 without him for the year. If Curry is not ready for the Hawks game, the Warriors also host the surging Utah Jazz on Sunday afternoon as well as the Indiana Pacers a week from tonight on Tuesday night.

Curry has appeared in just 50 games for the Warriors this season and will end up appearing in the second-fewest games of his career by the time the regular season winds down. However, the Warriors are 100% focused on being healthy for the postseason. Curry has averaged 26.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 1.6 steals and 4.2 three-pointers per game on 49 percent shooting from the field and 42.4 percent shooting from beyond the arc.
