It goes without saying that there is no love lost between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers. Fans were reminded of that during a minor exchange between point guard Stephen Curry and center Kendrick Perkins.

With the third quarter coming to a close, Curry had slipped over the feet of Perkins on the sideline following a missed 3-pointer. Both took exception to the contact and shared a few words near the Cavs bench.

According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, Curry says their conversation lacked any real substance:

Steph Curry asked about the Kendrick Perkins squabble: “Much ado about nothing.” Klay Thompson: “Good movie.” Curry: “Great movie.”

It is clear Curry is trying to downplay his interaction with Perkins. Given the latter's reputation for seeking out drama, it hardly comes as any surprise to see him make his presence known without even suiting up. Unfortunately, all it did was give Curry an added motivation to put the game away.

The Warriors had largely struggled to find their rhythm from deep throughout the game up to that point. Needless to say, Curry was no exception. Prior to his spat with Perkins, he was an abysmal 6-of-18 from the field. However, he managed to follow up the exchange by hitting five of his next eight shots to close the game out in spectacular fashion. Although Curry may pose little threat to Perkins from a physical standpoint, he managed to get the last laugh by breaking an NBA Finals record with nine 3-pointers.
