Stephen Curry has been on an absolute tear this season. So much so, that the Golden State Warriors superstar has emerged as the early frontrunner in this year's MVP race.

Curry's scorching hot start to the season, however, could come to a screeching halt with recent reports suggesting that the seven-time All-Star could be forced to sit out Thursday's tilt against the Cleveland Cavaliers (h/t Anthony Slater of The Athletic):

This is the first time we've heard of this hip issue for Curry but it doesn't sound anything serious. The questionable tag could also be a precaution for the Warriors given how Curry looked like his usual dominant self on Tuesday as he led the Warriors to an impressive demolition job on Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets.

Be that as it may, Curry could still end up being sidelined on Thursday. It is important to note that this is going to be the first game of a back-to-back set for the Warriors, who will return to action on Friday in a matchup against the Pistons. Detroit isn't exactly the best team in the NBA right now, so if the Warriors opt to be extremely cautious here then there's a slim chance that Steph ends up missing both road games.
