Stephen Curry wasn't short of praise for his longtime Eastern Conference rival LeBron James, after a couple of primetime performances lifted his Cleveland Cavaliers past the Boston Celtics en route to an eighth straight NBA Finals appearance.

With the Golden State Warriors only a game away from reaching the grand finale for a fourth straight year, Curry took time to appreciate what The King has done for his team.

“Don't disrespect the other guys out there, they fought hard too. I hate when people say that,” said Curry when faced with a picture of the lackluster contributions from James' teammates throughout the postseason. “Yeah, they're new and what not — but LeBron is amazing, he's had an unbelievable playoff run and has willed his team into eight straight Finals. It's unbelievable to think of the consistency and the longevity and the greatness that he's shown in the Eastern Conference.”

The Warriors could secure a fourth-straight meeting in the NBA Finals with the Cavs if they can get past the high-octane Houston Rockets tonight on the road, much like Cleveland had to grind out a win from the bowels of the TD Garden in Boston — making this season a complete opposite of how both teams got to the Finals last season, competing for historic undefeated runs in an undeniable collision course.
