In case you needed further proof that Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is the real deal, the Toronto Blue Jays’ first baseman went full Babe Ruth Wednesday night against Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees in the Bronx. The second-generation big leaguer blasted three home runs to go with a double on four at-bats to lead Toronto to a 6-4 victory.

Understandably, everyone was in awe of Guerrero’s performance, including Judge himself.

“That guy,” Judge said, “he's a game-changer.”

Guerrero went deep in the first, third, and eighth innings. His first two blasts in the game came off Yankees ace Gerrit Cole. Judge himself also sent one out of the field with a 413-foot bomb in the fifth inning and finished 2 of 4 for a quality night, albeit in a loss.

In six games to date this 2022 MLB season, Guerrero already has four home runs and eight RBIs, while batting .391. He’s also pulled off a feat never done by anyone younger before in MLB history, according to Stats by STATS.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. of the @BlueJays is the youngest player in MLB history to go 4-for-4 (or better) with 3+ HR and 4+ XBH in a game.

Last year, Guerrero got barely edged by Los Angeles Angels star Shohei Ohtani for the MVP award in the American League, with Guerrero finishing second in the voting. It's also worth noting that Judge was fourth in the voting with the Yankees outfielder gaining 41 percent share of the votes.

The Yankees will look to even up the series in the finale this Thursday night, as they also lost in the opener. They will be giving the ball to Luis Severino, who hopes that Guerrero has cooled down a bit at least once he faces off with the Blue Jays’ slugger. If anything, Guerrero is 0 of 2 with a strikeout in his career against the Yankees’ righty.
