Nothing is going right for the Los Angeles Angels right now. They are on a 10-game losing streak and Mike Trout is having the worst slump of his career.

Trout addressed his slump by saying that he needs to get in the right position to get hits. He is currently mired in a 0-for-23 slump, the worst of his illustrious career, and has only four hits during the Angels' losing streak. For one of the greatest baseball players of all time, such a streak is scary and very detrimental to his team.

According to Sam Blum of The Athletic, Angels manager Joe Maddon said that Trout is simply trying to put the team on his back. He praised his superstar's accountability and desire to win:

“He’s just trying a little bit too hard; that’s how I see it,” manager Joe Maddon said. “He’s one of the leaders of the team. He wants it to be right. He wants to get us there. He’s a very accountable human being. He’s all of these different things, and I think he might be trying a little bit too hard.”

On the season, Trout still has 49 hits in as many games with an OPS of .966 to go along with 13 home runs and 13 doubles, which both lead all Angels hitters. His OPS is second only to breakout superstar Taylor Ward. Los Angeles is still in Wild Card territory with a 27-27 record, but the club needs to get back into the win column as soon as possible before this streak really gets out of hand.

With the Angels having the chance to get back to the playoffs, Trout is certainly trying everything he can to snap his cold spell.
